These dressings feature a comfortable and shower-proof silicone foam, enhanced with breathable REACTIC film technology. The triple-layer construction includes a gentle silicone gel adhesive, a hydrocellular foam core, and a highly breathable waterproof top film, providing effective wound management for up to 7 days.

Directions for Use

Follow these steps to use ALLEVYN Gentle Border Dressings effectively:

1. Thoroughly wash your hands before and after treating the wound. Clean the wound and surrounding skin with clean water to remove any visible dirt or debris.
2. Dry the skin around the wound and clip any excess hair close to the wound.
3. Ensure the absorbent pad area covers the entire wound before applying the dressing.
4. Open the pouch by peeling apart the flaps and remove the dressing.
5. Start peeling off the backing paper from the dressing.
6. Anchor the adhesive side of the dressing to the skin.
7. Smooth the dressing over the wound, removing the remaining backing paper.
8. Ensure the dressing is flat against the wound, is free from creases, and has adhered properly. The dressing may be repositioned as necessary.

ALLEVYN Gentle Border Dressings can be cut to fit smaller or awkwardly shaped wounds; however, cutting may compromise the bacterial barrier and waterproof features. If cut, ensure exposed foam areas are covered with an appropriate film dressing, avoiding coverage of the entire dressing.

Storage & Warnings

• Exercise caution when using the dressing under medical devices near the nose and mouth where moisture may affect adherence.
• Do not use this dressing to secure other medical devices on the patient due to the gentle adhesive.
• If irritation or sensitization occurs, discontinue use and consult a healthcare professional.
• During showering, avoid wetting the dressing; do not expose it to direct spray or submerge it. Avoid using with oxidizing agents such as hypochlorite solutions or hydrogen peroxide, as they can reduce absorbency.
• This product is for single use only. Using it on more than one patient can lead to cross-contamination or infection. Any unused dressing should not be retained for later use once the packaging is opened.
• If used on infected wounds, manage the infection per local clinical protocols.
