Vicks Vaporub Ointment is a decongestant chest rub that provides relief from cough and cold symptoms. Each box contains 100 grams of ointment, suitable for adults.

Ingredients

The formulation includes:

• Menthol 2.82% w/w
• Eucalyptus Oil 1.33% w/w
• Racemic Camphor
• Turpentine Oil
• Cedar Leaf Oil
• Nutmeg Oil
• Thymol

All ingredients are combined in a white soft paraffin base.

Directions for Use

For nasal congestion and coughs:

• Rub-on: Adults and children aged 2 years and above should rub a thick layer on the chest, neck, and back.
• Steam Inhalation: For adults and children aged 6 years and above, fill a bowl with steaming (not boiling) water and add 10 mL (2 teaspoonfuls) of VapoRub. Inhale the vapors for 10-15 minutes while covered with a towel. This may be repeated up to four times a day.

For muscular aches and pains, adults and children aged 2 years and above can rub on affected areas up to four times daily or as directed by a physician. Always read the label and follow the directions of use.

Storage & Warnings

When using this product:

• Do not use on children under 2 years unless directed by a physician.
• Avoid contact with eyes, nostrils, wounds, or damaged skin.
• Do not bandage tightly or use with heating pads.
• For steam inhalation, do not use on children under 6 years and do not leave children unsupervised.
• Consult a doctor if fever is present or symptoms persist, and if pregnant or breastfeeding before use.

Keep out of reach of children. For external use only. If contact with eyes occurs, rinse immediately with water. Test on a small area of skin before applying to larger areas if you have sensitive skin. Discontinue use if irritation develops. Contains a high concentration of menthol, which may cause severe skin irritation. Keep clothing loose.
