General Information

Betadine Sore Throat Gargle is an antibacterial treatment designed to aid in the relief of sore throats. This concentrated formula is effective from the first signs of discomfort and is suitable for adults and children aged 6 years and older. The product must be diluted before use, with a convenient measuring device included in the packaging.

Ingredients

The active ingredient is Povidone-iodine at 7.5% w/v, equivalent to 0.75% w/v available iodine. The product also contains:

• Citric acid monohydrate
• Dibasic sodium phosphate dodecahydrate
• Ethanol
• Glycerol
• Menthol
• Methyl salicylate
• Purified water
• Sodium hydroxide

Directions for Use

To use, dilute 1mL of the gargle with 20mL of water using the provided measuring device. Gargle for 30 seconds and spit out the solution. Do not swallow. This can be repeated every 3-4 hours as needed.

Storage & Warnings

Store below 25°C. Do not swallow the product or the diluted solution. Seek medical advice if experiencing severe sore throat with fever, headache, nausea, vomiting, or if symptoms persist for more than 2 days. This product should not be used by individuals with known hypersensitivity to iodine or povidone, or by those with thyroid diseases. It should not be used for 4 weeks prior to thyroid cancer treatment. Do not heat before application, and do not use if the neck seal is broken. Discontinue use if irritation, redness, or swelling occurs. Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Contains Ethanol (29% alcohol).
